Characterization of the Urethane Based Tissue Equivalent Substitute for Phantom Construction: Model Molding, XCOM and MCNPX Studies

The Soft and Lung tissue equivalent substitute (STES LTES) were developed from urethane PMC121/30 Dry (A B) of Smooth-On, USA. part A B mixed in the ratio 1:1 further with calcium carbonate (CaCO3) at a 2:1 by mass. Air moisture was extracted mixture for 10minutes. This is STES density after air extraction 1.04gcm-3. LTES mixing polystyrene beads 10:1 0.25gcm-3 extraction. subjected to compression test stress-strain analysis. elemental composition achieved using XCOM software IUPAC nomenclatures source compounds as inputs. obtained used modify lung soft material AMALE AFEMALE computational phantom ORNL. photon exposure (0.06MeV-15.00MeV) MCNPX Version 27e. results provided bremsstrahlung, positron annihilation, fluorescence energies that estimate g-factor. mass-energy transfer coefficient (μtra/ρ) absorption (μen/ρ) calculated values g-factor, fluence Kerma. μen/ρ tissue-equivalent agrees National Institute Standard ICRU 44. are technically proper research teaching models dose measurements these results.
